Consumer health data privacy policy — Eventide

This is Eventide's consumer health data privacy policy under Washington's My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373). It covers the only consumer health data Eventide collects: the biometric information from the face check a member takes at signup, or later for the Verified badge, and from the face check a host and a host's spouse take, and a host's or spouse's photo ID. Eventide is operated by Yonatan Demian, an individual, 4891 Taylor Circle, Collegedale, TN 37315.

¶What we collect, and why

Everyone who joins takes a liveness check at signup, after agreeing to it on its own screen. It collects: three photographs of your face taken during the check; on an iPhone with Face ID, a small grey image of the depth reading of your face and measurements of its shape (how far your nose stands in front of the rest of your face, how far your face departs from a flat surface, how much of the depth reading was usable, how far your face was from the phone); on an iPhone without Face ID, a short video of the check instead; and measurements of the check itself (how far you turned each way, how long each part took, how long your face was out of view, and how many faces were in view), with the model of the phone, its iOS version and the version of the app. We treat all of it as biometric data.

We use it for one purpose: to confirm that a real person was in front of the camera and that it is the person in your profile photographs, which is required to join Eventide. Our server compares the measurements with fixed limits and marks each attempt as passed or not passed. A person at Eventide compares the check's photographs with your profile photographs, and decides the check from its photographs and depth image or video where three attempts did not pass or the phone has no depth camera. The purpose includes a second look at the first decision on your profile in the 30 days after it. It is never used to identify you, never compared by software with any other face, and never used for advertising, marketing, training any model, or anything else.

It is deleted 30 days after the first decision on your profile, and within 90 days of the check at the latest, or sooner if you delete your account or ask us to.

A member admitted without a passed check can take the same check later, from Profile, after agreeing to it on its own screen, to earn the Verified badge. A person at Eventide compares its photographs with your profile photographs and decides the badge. It is deleted 30 days after the decision on the badge, and within 90 days of the check at the latest, or sooner if you delete your account or ask us to.

A host, and the spouse of a host who runs open homes, takes the same check before the host account is approved, after agreeing to it on its own screen, and sends a photo of the front of a photo ID. A person at Eventide compares the check's photographs with the photo ID, by eye, to confirm the person is real and is the person on it. The photo ID is deleted when that person decides; the check's information 30 days after the decision, and within 90 days of the check at the latest.

¶Where it comes from

From you, through the Eventide app on your phone, while you take the check and, for a host, send the photo ID. We collect it from no other source.

¶What we share, and with whom

We share none of it. We do not sell it. No affiliate or other third party receives it. Cloudflare stores the photographs, depth images, videos and photo IDs for us, as our processor, and may use them only to store them for us. We disclose it to law enforcement only when the law compels us to, and then only on a search warrant.

¶Your rights, and how to use them

Write to support@eventidedating.com. You can:

• confirm whether we hold consumer health data about you, see it, and receive a list of every third party and affiliate we have shared it with (there are none);
• withdraw your consent, and ask us to delete it before its dates, and we will, and tell our processor to do the same. Deleting your account also deletes it, within 24 hours;
• appeal if we refuse a request, by replying to our refusal with the words "Privacy Request Appeal". If you are still unhappy, you can contact the Washington Attorney General.

A host's spouse, who has no account, uses these rights by writing to us. Deleting the host's account deletes the spouse's information too, the photo ID at once and the rest within 24 hours.

We answer within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need one 45-day extension. Requests are free. We will not treat you differently for making one. Withdrawing your consent after the check does not end your membership, and a check that has passed still counts; if you withdraw before we have decided a check that did not pass, we can no longer decide it, and you can ask to take the check again.
