Copyright (DMCA) Policy — Eventide
Effective date: 2026-09-19
Members own what they post, and we respect the copyright of everyone else too. If you believe something on Eventide infringes your copyright, this page explains how to tell us and what we do in response. It follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. §512.
¶1. Reporting infringement (a takedown notice)
Send a written notice to our designated agent:
DMCA designated agent: Copyright Agent c/o Yonatan Demian, Eventide 4891 Taylor Circle, Collegedale, TN 37315 +1 240 472 1656 support@eventidedating.com
For your notice to be effective under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), it must include:
- your physical or electronic signature (or that of someone authorised to act for the owner of the infringed right);
- identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- identification of the material you say is infringing and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it (on Eventide, the member's first name plus their church or conference as shown, and which photograph or text, is usually enough; a screenshot helps);
- your address, telephone number and, if available, your email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the owner.
Please do not use this process for anything other than copyright. A fake profile, or someone using your photographs to impersonate you, is handled faster through the Report button, which every profile in the app carries. Knowingly materially misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. §512(f).
¶2. What we do with a notice
When we receive a substantially complete notice, we remove or disable access to the material promptly, tell the member who posted it, and give them a copy of the notice. We record the notice against their account (see §4).
¶3. Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send our designated agent a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3) containing:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the removed material and where it appeared before it was removed;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where your address is (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Eventide may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.
We will forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. Unless they tell our agent within that period that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the infringement, we will restore the material in not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after receiving your counter-notice (17 U.S.C. §512(g)(2)(C)).
¶4. Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of members who are repeat infringers (17 U.S.C. §512(i)(1)(A)). Our working rule: a member with two upheld takedowns is warned in writing that one more means removal; a member with three upheld takedowns is banned. A takedown that is reversed by counter-notice, or that we conclude was mistaken or fraudulent, does not count. We may terminate sooner in flagrant cases. An account posting another person's photographs as its own is dealt with under the fake-profile rules as well as this policy.
